Emails

Set up branded emails, customize templates with AI, send test messages, and track delivery in Atoms Cloud.

Use Emails in Atoms Cloud to send branded emails from your own domain, customize email templates with AI, and track delivery activity. You can manage authentication emails, such as signup confirmations and password resets, alongside custom emails for your app.

Before you start

  • Open a project connected to Atoms Cloud.
  • Have access to the DNS settings for the domain you want to send from.
  • Prepare an email address you can use to receive test messages.

Set up your sending domain

  1. Open Cloud in your project, select Email in the sidebar, and click Get Started.
  2. Enter a Sender Name. This is the name recipients see in their inbox.
  3. Enter your Root Domain, such as yourdomain.com. Enter only the domain, without https://, an @ symbol, or an email address.
  4. Review the sending Subdomain. The default is notify, which creates a sending subdomain such as notify.yourdomain.com.
  5. Check the Sender Email preview. If you choose Show as sent from @yourdomain.com, recipients see the root-domain address while the subdomain handles email delivery.
  6. Continue to DNS setup and select your domain provider. Follow the guided setup if your provider supports it, or choose the manual setup option.
  7. For manual setup, copy each DNS record name and value exactly as shown and add the records at your DNS provider.
  8. Complete setup and wait for domain verification and email setup to finish. Your domain is ready when the final status shows that verification and setup are complete.

Completing the DNS setup dialog does not always mean the records have finished propagating. If the domain is still pending, allow time for the DNS changes to take effect before sending email.

Review and customize email templates

The Emails page includes templates for common authentication flows, such as Confirm signup, Password reset, Invite, Magic link, and Reauthentication. Open a template to review its subject, sender, and email preview.

Templates can follow your app's branding. Review the content and appearance before using them with real users.

  1. Open the template you want to change.
  2. Open its more menu and select Edit with AI.
  3. Complete the prompt in chat with the changes you want. For example: “Make the signup confirmation email shorter, use a friendly tone, and match the button color to my app.”
  4. Review the updated preview when AI finishes.
  5. Choose Accept Changes to apply the update, Ask AI to Refine to make another change, or Revert to discard it.
  6. Send a test email to check the result in an inbox.

Generating a preview does not apply the changes by itself. Accept the changes when you are ready to use them.

Create a custom email template

Create a custom template for an email your app needs, such as an order confirmation, a subscription reminder, or a welcome message.

  1. On the Emails page, click Create a custom email template.
  2. In chat, describe when the email should be sent and what it should contain.
  3. Include the subject, tone, important details, and any action the recipient should take.
  4. Review the generated draft. Use Ask AI to Refine if needed, then choose Accept to activate the template.
  5. Test both the email content and the app flow that should send it.

Example prompt: “Create a welcome email for new members after signup. Thank them for joining, include their first name, and add a button that opens their dashboard. Keep the message short and friendly.”

Confirm that the sending trigger is connected to the intended app action. A template preview alone does not verify that the app will send the email at the right time.

Send a test email

  1. Open the template you want to test.
  2. Open its more menu and select Send Test.
  3. Enter a valid recipient address that you can access.
  4. Click Send test.
  5. Check the received email, including the sender name, subject, layout, and links.

The recipient shown as “me” in a template preview is a preview label. A test message is sent to the address you enter in the test dialog.

View analytics and delivery logs

Open the more menu next to the current email domain and select Analytics and logs to review email activity for the current project.

  • Use All domains to see activity across domains, or select a domain to narrow the results.
  • Choose a time range, such as the last 7, 30, or 90 days.
  • Review the Sent, Delivered, and Bounced counts and the delivery trend.
  • Use the template and status filters to find specific messages in the activity log.

Sent means a message was sent; it does not by itself confirm delivery. Check the delivery status when investigating a missing email. Switching the project's sending domain does not remove its previous email activity.

Manage sending domains

Open the more menu next to the current domain and select Manage domains. You can see the current project domain, available workspace domains, and the option to add a domain.

Use an existing verified domain

Verified domains are shared within a workspace. Select an available verified domain and choose Use for this project to connect it to the current project. The same verified domain can be used by multiple projects without repeating DNS verification.

Add or verify a domain

Choose Add domain and follow the sender and DNS setup steps. If verification fails or times out, expand the domain details, compare every required DNS record with your provider's settings, correct any differences, and retry verification.

After retrying, wait for the final verification result. A notification that verification was triggered only means the check has started.

Disconnect or delete a domain

Disconnect from project removes the domain's connection to the current project. Delete domain removes the shared domain resource and can affect other projects in the workspace that use it. Check those projects before deleting a domain.

Manage authentication settings

Click Auth settings on the Emails page to open Authentication settings. Here you can review sign-in options, signup settings, the Site URL, and allowed redirect URLs. Save your changes when you finish.

For more information about configuring sign-in for your app, see Authentication.

Troubleshooting

My domain is still pending

Check that all required DNS records have been added with the exact names and values shown in setup. DNS changes can take time to propagate. Wait for verification to complete before testing email delivery.

Domain verification failed or timed out

Open Manage domains, expand the domain, and review the required records. Correct missing or incorrect records at your DNS provider, then retry verification and check the final status.

I did not receive a test email

Confirm the recipient address, check spam or junk folders, and review Analytics and logs for the message status. Also confirm that the sending domain has completed verification.

My template changes are not being used

Return to the template and check whether the AI changes are still awaiting acceptance. Accept the intended version, send another test, and confirm that your app is using the correct template.
