Remix a project
Create a new project from a shared project, your current version, or an earlier version in History.
Create a new project from an existing project or version, then continue building from that point.
Sign in to Atoms before starting. If you are signed out when you select Remix, choose Log in or Sign up, then return to the confirmation.
Before you Remix
Remix is free when the project is not connected to Atoms Cloud. If the project is connected to Atoms Cloud, remixing costs credits. Check your remaining credits before confirming if cost matters to you.
What Remix does
Remix duplicates the project into a new chat session, so you can continue from its current state. The new project can then be customized without changing the original project.
Where you can start a Remix
Starting point | What it creates |
|---|---|
Shared public project | A new project based on the shared project. You can rename it before confirming. |
Project | A new project based on the version currently shown. |
History | A new project that branches from the version you selected. |
Connected-project options: If you own a project with connected data or ads, the confirmation may include Copy database data and Sync ads to the new project. Review these options and choose the state you want. Ads may remain tied to the current domain. These options may not appear when remixing a shared public project.
Remix a shared project
Use this path when you open a public project that you want to build from.
- Open the shared project in Discover.
- Select Remix at the top right.
- Review the confirmation. Rename the new project if needed, then confirm the Remix.
- Wait for the new project to open in Project.
- Confirm you are in the remixed project. The current product capture shows a successful Remix message and a highlighted original version reference after the new project opens.

Figure 1. Remix on a shared public project.
For a shared public project, Remix is an entry action. It is not followed by another project-menu Remix step. You can rename the project in the confirmation step before the Remix is created.

Figure 2. Example of the project after Remix completes.
Use the success message and project workspace to confirm the Remix completed. The highlighted original version reference identifies the version used to create the new project. This confirmation is different from the Remix entry point; it appears after the new project has been created.
Remix from your current project
When you are already working inside a project, do not use the project-name menu as the documented Remix route. The Remix is at the top right of the version display box.
- Open the project and locate the version display box.
- Select Remix at the top right of that version box.
- Review the confirmation and rename the new project if needed.
- Confirm the Remix and continue in the new project.
Remix an earlier version from History
Use History when you want the new project to start from an earlier version instead of the version currently open.
- Open History.
- Select the version you want to branch from.
- Select Remix.
- Review the confirmation, rename if needed, and confirm.
- Verify the new project opened from the version you selected.
If Remix does not work as expected
- Remix is missing from a shared public project: confirm you are viewing a remixable public project, then try the supported Project or History route if you own the project. If the control is still unavailable, contact Atoms Support.
- The confirmation does not appear or the new project does not open: do not repeat the action continuously if credits may be involved. Check whether a new project was created, then retry once or contact Support.
- You are unsure whether credits were used: check your current credit balance under Settings > Plans and credits. The exact credit impact can depend on the project connection state, so confirm the balance before retrying.
- A connected service behaves differently after Remix: verify the connector separately. For example, Atoms currently documents that Supabase connections are disconnected after Remix and need to be re-established.

Entry point | You used one supported route: shared public project, Project version box, or History. |
Confirmation | You reviewed the confirmation, including any connected-project options that appear, and renamed the new project if needed. |
After Remix | The new project opens and you can identify the original version in the resulting workspace or history. |
