Mode Switching Guide

Atoms offers Engineer Mode and Team Mode for your different needs.

Updated this week

Mode Overview

Atoms offers specialized modes tailored to your workflow. Whether you need rapid prototyping, complex collaboration, or in-depth research, choosing the right mode balances speed, cost, and functionality.

Engineer Mode

Maximize your resources with this fast and efficient option that activates only the @Alex engineer agent. Perfect for building simple websites, generating quick prototypes, and creating demos, this mode delivers the same high-quality results from your prompts while reducing credit usage.

Team Mode

For complex or general needs, this mode brings together multiple agents to work as a team. It handles a broader range of scenarios—such as market research or data analysis—giving you more diverse output types. While this richer functionality does use more credits, it provides the power needed for more demanding tasks.

Learn more about the Agent Team roles here: Your Agent Team.

Race Mode

Race Mode lets you run the same prompt across multiple models all at once. This parallel approach boosts your success rate and allows you to quickly compare different outputs, so you can easily pick the best result for your needs.

Due to high costs, Race Mode is now only available to Max users.

Deep Research Mode

Deep Research (DR) is powered by @Iris, an AI agent designed to break down complex tasks and create professional reports for business, academia, or market analysis. Unlike a standard search engine, Iris acts as a precise researcher—gathering information and verifying sources to ensure every detail is reliable and traceable.

You can instantly turn these structured reports into websites, presentations, or documents with a single click. When you need trustworthy information and ready-to-use results, simply @Iris to get started.
