What This Error Means
You may see this message:
"The current project system file is corrupted. You can remix a previously correct version or contact for support."
Most of the time, this happens for one of these two reasons:
Your browser is loading old/stored data — a quick cache clear usually fixes it.
Your project is running out of storage space — you just need to free up some space.
Your code and project files are safe. Neither of these issues will delete your work.
Quick Fixes
Try these in order. Most people only need step 1 or 2.
Fix 1: Refresh and check your network
Sometimes it's just a temporary glitch.
Refresh the page.
Make sure you're connected to the internet.
If you're on Wi-Fi, try switching to a wired connection or restarting your router.
If that doesn't work, move to Fix 2.
Fix 2: Clear your browser cache
Outdated cached files often trigger this error.
Chrome
Click ⋮ → Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear browsing data → select "Cached images and files"→ choose "Last 24 hours" → Clear data.
Safari (Mac)
Safari → Preferences → Advanced → check "Show Develop menu" → Develop → Empty Caches.
Firefox
☰ → Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data → select cached content→ Clear.
After clearing, refresh the page. If the error is still there, move to Fix 3.
Fix 3: Free up disk storage
If your project storage is full, you'll need to delete unused chats and files.
Step 1: Check your storage usage
Go to Settings → General → Disk Space → Manage to see how much space you're using.
Step 2: Delete unused chats and files
Go to your Projects page.
Find the chats you no longer need.
Click the "..." menu and select Delete.
Make sure to check the box "Delete disk space" — otherwise the files stay on disk.
⚠️ Important:
Once deleted, files cannot be recovered — double-check before confirming.
Do not delete chats that were used as the base for a remix — this will break the remix.
If you're unsure, you can download your files first (Pro/Max users only).
If You Still See the Error
If you've tried all three fixes and the error is still there:
Try remixing to a previously working version.
If that doesn't help, contact support via chat with your Chat Link and a screenshot of the error.
We'll investigate and help you directly.
